Chicken Bowl FAQs

Is the Free-range Chicken Bowl suitable for gastrointestinal issues?

Yes, it's low-fat, which makes it great for sensitive tummies.

The Chicken Bowl contains lots of soluble fibre and anti-inflammatory ingredients, which minimise constipation, fermentation and irritation in the gut.

For an added health boost, try adding:

  • Lyka Digestion Supplement - fortify their gut with billions of probiotic bacteria and keep their microbiome balanced and diverse.

  • Chicky Chews - low in fat, rich in amino essential acids and gentle on sensitive tummies.

Does the Free-range Chicken Bowl support dental health?

Yes, alongside regular brushing, Lyka meals support healthy teeth and gums.

Lyka meals are gently cooked and contain a special Kelp (ascophyllum nodosum) and Vitamin E to promote dental health. Kelp is clinically proven to change the makeup of dogs' saliva to inhibit the growth of plaque and tartar, while Vitamin E may help reduce inflammation.

Is the Free-range Chicken Bowl suitable for arthritis?

Yes, this meal is bursting with healthy Omega-3s to aid joint mobility.

Omega 3 fatty acids from Fish oil and Flaxseed oil make this a great option for dogs with painful joints and arthritis.

Is the Free-range Chicken Bowl suitable for pups with diabetes?

Yes, it's Low GI and packed with plenty of fibre and complex carbs to support slow glucose absorption.

Slow-burning low GI energy avoids blood sugar spikes, making it a great option for pups with diabetes. If you're giving insulin injections, make sure you measure their glucose levels — your dog's insulin dosage requirements may need adjusting with a change in diet. Speak to your vet for more information.

Is the Free-range Chicken Bowl suitable for pups with anal gland problems?

Yes, it's full of soluble fibre and anti-inflammatory ingredients for anal gland health.

Lyka meals have the right amount of fibre, with ingredients like Psyllium husk, which encourages better and more regular bowel movements and supports natural anal gland expression. Anti-inflammatory ingredients also help to alleviate swelling, manage inflammation and support the microbiome.

Is Free-range Chicken Bowl limited protein and hypoallergenic?

Lyka's Chicken Bowl is limited protein and only includes chicken protein and fish oil. However, it is not hypoallergenic.

All Lyka meals are either limited protein (containing one protein and fish) or single protein. If you're looking for a single protein meal, try the Fish Bowl. Chicken is one of the top six allergies in dogs, so it's not considered hypoallergenic. If you're looking for a hypoallergenic meal, try Lyka's Fish, Kangaroo, Lamb or Turkey Bowls.

Lyka's Chicken bowl is free from wheat gluten, soy and artificial preservatives and additives that can be allergenic.

Is Free-range Chicken Bowl grain-free?

Yep, sure is.

Looking for other grain-free meals? Try Lyka's Beef, Fish and Kangaroo. Turkey and Lamb Bowls contain quinoa, a gluten-free seed packed full of amino acids, antioxidants, iron and magnesium. Quinoa is great for dogs when served in moderation.
