A huge thank you to our Lyka Pupper Parents for 10 million meals. Last week at Lyka HQ, we celebrated a milestone of 10 million meals served – that’s a lot of happy puppers and tummies!
We want to take this moment to celebrate our Pupper Parents and the puppers who have joined our fresh food journey, to help us grow, and allow us to serve you and your pupper with the best possible food on the planet.
How it started
Lyka began with our founder, Anna, embarking on a mission to improve her own pupper Lyka’s (yes, our namesake!) health. In her discovery of all the hidden nasties found in an overly processed diet, Anna started creating a homemade diet for Lyka.
“I notice a change in my body when I follow a healthy diet with lots of fresh plant and animal foods, so it made sense that Lyka would feel the same.”
What started out as a few meals cooked in her own kitchen, soon became a vision with purpose and impact to produce and deliver fresh, human-grade dog food using 100% wholefood ingredients. The change in Lyka was incredible, and Anna knew she had to share the benefits of fresh food with other Aussie puppers.
What it took
Since launching in 2018, Lyka (the business that is!) has grown to a team of over 100 like-minded, pupper-loving individuals, all who have a shared goal: to serve you and your pupper with Australia’s freshest dog and get your pupper feeling, looking and living their best self. From helping to improve digestive issues and bringing back the youthful energy in senior puppers, we’re proud to be achieving our mission every day and counting.
We are proud to celebrate the over 76,000 customer service messages that have been answered by our Customer Care team. That’s 76,000 messages from incredible, caring pupper parents who are passionate about their pupper’s life and will do whatever it takes to ensure they achieve the healthiest, happiest, bounciest life.
We celebrate our kitchen facilities that have produced 3000 kgs of the best possible food for our dogs and our planet each week. The millions of carrots and 20 million individual blueberries, as well as all the other fruits and veggies that were deemed too ugly for the supermarket shelves and found their way into our bowls. Because we all know they are still bursting with nutritious goodness for our puppers – the uglier, the better, we say!
We then celebrate all of the incredible Australian farmers who provide 100% of the meat that we put into our recipes, all sustainably produced and delivered with love in Sydney. 2022 was also the year we became Australia’s only carbon-negative dog company, because your puppers deserve great food, but it shouldn’t be at the expense of our environment.
