Like all corgis, Fenton is obsessed with food — his parent, Meghann, says he’ll do “just about anything” for a treat.

Knowing the breed is prone to excess weight gain, Meghann was always on the lookout for the healthiest dog food, hoping to take a preventative approach while Fenton was still young.

Today, Fenton is thriving: this is his story.

Meet Fenton — a cheerful, hilarious pup with a killer side-eye

Meghann and her partner were drawn to the corgi breed for their charming personalities and manageable energy levels.

“Shedding was the only con of the breed, and man is the shedding real, but we love Fenton so much that it’s worth it! Our bond with Fenton has deepened in ways we never imagined. He keeps us laughing and more importantly, he’s expanded our capacity to love. Our home wouldn’t be the same without him.”

You’ll never wonder what Fenton is thinking — his facial expressions say it all! He’s a daddy’s boy with a sunny personality, being fiercely independent or up for a cuddle depending on his mood. He’s all about the idea of walks but less enthused about the actual walking part: he thrives when he’s got room to roam and explore.

Taking a preventative approach to Fenton’s health

Corgis are susceptible to obesity and joint problems. This was top of mind for Meghann, knowing how much Fenton loves food (during his Lyka photoshoot, he was rewarded with a special treat — dog-safe peanut butter and Lyka’s meal topper, which they’ve now had to introduce at home!).

Prior to making the real food switch, Fenton’s energy levels and digestion were inconsistent. Meghann and her partner were open to recommendations from other dog parents: when a friend saw positive results with their own dog, they were intrigued.
