Macronutrient competitor comparison
For a 16Kg dog
Lyka meals provide optimal levels of protein, are low in fat and carbohydrates while remaining accessible compared to other common brands.
While most pet foods meet the minimum protein requirements, our focus is on what is optimal for a dog's health. Our protein levels are based on recommendations from board-certified veterinary nutritionists. Higher protein levels also contribute positively to body mass, both muscle and fat, coat health, immune function, and ageing.

Happy vets, happy pets
“As a Behaviour Vet, I am passionate about good quality food, the cornerstone of a healthy functioning brain. But good food isn’t just about ticking the nutrient box. It must be palatable, textural, and balanced; most importantly, patients must be motivated to eat it. It’s a high and complicated “Goldilocks” standard to meet. Lyka is the Goldilocks diet that the fussiest critic will love, and their whole health will benefit.”
"I found Lyka after my Malinois picked up Giardia as a young pup. I was struggling to find a good permanent option for her sensitive gut while balancing her needs for enrichment and training. Lyka has been a fantastic option for us, knowing that it's nutritionally sound, not raw but fresh and palatable, as well as easy to store has been a game changer. I often recommend it to my behaviour patients who often have pickier appetites, and benefit from the unique mouth feel and flavours. I can feel confident knowing that their nutrition is in good hands with Lyka."

Lyka helps manage common health concerns

Weight management
Achieve better weight loss outcomes with portion controlled, high satiety meals
Palatability with portion control
Lyka meals are custom-portioned based on the needs of individual dogs. This ensures optimal outcomes by removing the guesswork of portion control for owners.
High protein and low carb formulations
With high levels of protein and low carbohydrates, Lyka meals have a naturally low glycaemic load. Providing steady energy and greater satiety, over a longer period.
High satiety leads to better weight loss outcome
Some weight loss diets leave dogs hungry and begging for more food. Lyka meals have greater volume and high-quality protein from real food, leading to greater satiety and weight loss outcomes

Dermatitis
Support ongoing skin healing with a multimodal approach to pruritis management
Suitable for exclusion diets
All of our meals are limited protein source (4 of our recipes are single protein, excluding fish oil). They are suitable for protein source exclusion diet trials in dogs with suspected atopic dermatitis.
A supercharged skin health strategy
Lyka’s Fish Bowl is packed full of nutrients to support skin health with the ideal amounts of Niacin, Zinc, Iodine, ALA fatty acid and Vitamins A, E, and D3. This formulation can assist with reducing pruritis and improving skin and coat condition.
Low allergy
The Lyka Turkey Bowl is a single, novel protein meal with limited ingredients, high digestibility and free from technical additives. It’s low in fat and may be suitable for exclusion diets.
Whole body support for pruritis management
Lyka meals include functional ingredients for a healthy microbiome and high levels of Vitamin D, Omega 3 fatty acids and Zinc to promote skin health. These nutrients play an integral role in cellular proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis, all vital for ongoing skin healing and immunity.

Osteoarthritis
Support dogs already living with, or at risk of developing, musculoskeletal issues
Mobility veterinary therapeutic diet equivalent
Lyka meals are formulated to provide similar micronutrient profiles and benefits as common mobility veterinary therapeutic diets with the added benefit of real food ingredients.
Omega-3 benefits for mobility
All Lyka meals are naturally enriched with Omega-3 EPA and DHA, and have exceptional Omega-6:3 ratios, below 3.6:1.
Weight management in the treatment of OA
Lyka meals are ideal for weight management and can help with the treatment of osteoarthritis by decreasing the mechanical stress on joints – an important part of a multimodal treatment plan for osteoarthritis.
Rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients
Rich in polyphenolic antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients to protect against oxidative stress including within the articular cartilage, Lyka meals are ideal for preventative care in breeds prone to developing joint issues.
